Marquis is looking for an
Estimator for our
Scarborough site.
Annual salary:
To be determined according to experience.
Shift:
Day shift, from Monday to Friday, according to office hours.
Job type:
Full-time, permanent, hybrid mode.
As a member of our
Estimating team, the Estimator is responsible for determining the costs involved with producing and selling books using an automated system.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ESTIMATOR:
- Process estimates accurately and in a timely fashion including those that cannot be auto priced as well as updates to the job plan;
- Confirm and/or adjust quote assumptions and escalate if pricing needs to be reviewed;
- Provide solutions and variations from standard assumptions to meet unique customer specifications.
- Conduct product research when information is needed to complete the estimate;
- Maintain relationships with outside suppliers and stay updated on suppliers' capabilities;
- Assist in the development of new and existing estimating assumptions;
- Develop training material, tools, and assist in the training of members of other teams;
- Collaborate with the team to make recommendations for further systems development;
- Participate in the development of new pricing technology.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ESTIMATOR:
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in Business Management or a related field;
- 3+ years of related work experience;
- Excellent research, negotiating, and numeracy skills;
- Highly analytical and detailoriented with welldeveloped logic, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills;
- Knowledge of automated estimating/job planning systems and print processes;
- Team Player with the ability to develop relationships and pricing strategies with external suppliers;
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills; French language skills an asset;
- Proficient in manufacturing databases and MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook).
