Our busy downtown Cobourg office is looking for a part-time optometric assistant to fill a maternity leave Starting December 1st.

We are a family-oriented practice and focus on providing a quality experience for our patients in a comfortable, caring environment.

We use electronic medical records and offer a full spectrum of optometric care including full eye examinations, contact lens fittings, visual field testing, OCT, fundus photography, and an optical dispensary.

We are looking for a team player that is willing to step into any role that is needed within the office.

The hours for our office are Monday to Thursday 8:30-5:30 and Fridays from 8:30 to 3:00.

Our optometric assistants are responsible for the patient's overall experience during their visit to our office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• General reception/front desk duties including scheduling appointments, invoicing, answering phone calls, etc.
• Pretesting patients (OCT, Humphrey Visual Fields, Lensometry)
• Assisting patients in selection of frames and lenses to suit patients' aesthetic and performance needs and take necessary measurements
• Entering eyeglass and contact lens orders in our electronic medical records software
• Verifying prescription eyeglasses and notifying patients when eyewear is ready.
• Dispensing, adjusting and repairing patient eyewear
• Instructing patients on proper eyewear use and care of new eyeglass lenses.
• Troubleshooting patient concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintaining the general appearance of the dispensary and reception area.
• Providing exceptional customer service

Compensation is based on experience and skill set.

$15.50 to $19.00 /hour
