    What will you do?

    Under the direction of the Manager, IT and Facilities, the IT Service Desk Technician provides Level 1 IT support services to office staff, remote staff and field staff, as well as to providers and patients who utilize a variety of our applications for the delivery of health care. Working in coordination with other IT Team Members to provide a high level of service to the organization, the IT Service Desk Technician logs, tracks and troubleshoots technology related issues. The IT Service Desk Technician duties require the setup, inventory, maintenance, troubleshooting and removal of all varieties of equipment, and the support and troubleshooting of a large variety of software systems. In addition to providing user support through tickets, telephone calls and e-mail messages from staff and external users, the IT Service Desk Technician will proactively identify problems, facilitate resolutions, assist with hardware deployments, and promote good practice in the use of IT hardware and software, and participate in a range of IT projects and initiatives. This position will involve travel between sites to support all Home and Community Care Support Services ESC primary office sites as required.

    What must you have?

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems, or related
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, Comptia A+, ITIL Foundations, or a minimum of two years of experience in the IT field, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software
  • Experience with Windows 7, Windows 10, Server 2012/2016/2019 and basic LAN administration
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and O365 products
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting all varieties of hardware and software
  • Experience in supporting a Service Desk would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary, with a sound knowledge of the English language, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and an oral/written proficiency with Canada's two official languages will be looked upon favourably

    HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
