PAYROLL SPECIALIST


Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll for several sites across Canada, maintaining employee files, ensuring that payroll data is collected, entered, processed and verified according to specifications, and meeting deadlines.


RESPONSABILITIES:


  • Analyzes and performs data entry for payroll;
  • Responsible for biweekly payroll for approximately 900+ employees across Canada;
  • Regularly and accurately updates payroll data such as new hires, terminations, salary or other condition changes;
  • Administers CNESST files: calculates and makes payments for associates on leave and follows up on reimbursements;
  • Coordinates benefits followup during periods of absence: longterm disability, preventive withdrawal and maternity leave.
  • Acts as resource person for group insurance (enrolment management, changes during employment, termination and costs of various Modules)
  • Produces various reports for payroll, accounting and human resources departments;
  • Prepares salary change & bonus program files following annual appraisals;
  • Responds to various requests from employees, managers and directors;
  • Performs all other related tasks as requested by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting, administration and/or payroll;
  • 5 to 7 years' relevant experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of payrollrelated legislation and labor standards for all Canadian provinces;
  • Payroll association certification or equivalent would be an asset;
  • Bilingual French and English (spoken and written);
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook in a Windows environment;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines;
  • Dynamic, open to change and teamoriented;
  • Attention to detail, discretion and professionalism.
