    Overview

    As the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, & evaluating company performance. This involves developing and managing financial analysis procedures, as well as identifying and prioritizing recommended actions to meet organizational objectives.

    The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is also responsible for coordinating the budgeting and forecasting functions of the corporation, in collaboration with various analytical groups across the enterprise.

    Responsibilities
    • Perform quantitative analysis required for strategic planning, special projects, and reports for management and communicate results to management team.
    • Develop forecasting processes in coordination with relevant teams across the corporation, enabling frequent and dynamic updating of Profit & Loss (P&L) & capital forecasts.
    • Deliver value to the business through oversight of the Finance Business Partners and improving the quality and availability of financial data and business information.
    • Facilitate and assist business units in the effective completion of business cases, including estimates and cost benefit analysis that are used as input to the corporate intake process.
    • Responsible for preparing, coordinating, and administering the short and long-term financial plans for the corporation.
    • Initiate and oversee the budgeting process, including formulating guidelines, techniques, reports, and related material.
    • Responsible for all activities of a director, including management of a significant operating budget, participation in strategic planning, long term human resource planning, budgeting for special projects, and improvement initiatives.
    • Responsible for hiring, performance management, and workforce planning, and staff development planning, including a focus on succession planning.
    Qualifications
    • Completion of a recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
    • Ten years of related senior level experience in a computerized, financial environment, including budgeting, large-scale projects, and working effectively with large, inter-disciplinary teams.
    • Prior experience managing the FP&A function.
    • Experience in the insurance industry is an asset.
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting related information technologies and processes to realize efficiencies.
    • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills.
    • Advanced ability to identify and manage risks from a financial perspective.
    • Advanced ability to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
