Airfield Maintenance plays an integral part in the continued success and future vision of the Vancouver Airport Authority.

Position overview
Do you have a keen eye for detail and an ability to work collaboratively in a team?

Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring and conducting surface inspections and repairs of asphalt and concrete on the airport's runways, taxiways, aprons and airside roads
Controlling Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on the airfield through the use of specialized FOD removal equipment and manual techniques
Maintaining storm water drainage systems, perimeter fences, road safety equipment (barriers and other traffic control devices) and seaplane facilities
Assisting with equipment maintenance, special events and projects
Supporting irregular operations (aircraft emergencies and incidents)

Key qualifications include:

Two years of recent, related experience supplemented by a high school diploma or GED equivalent (some postsecondary education would be an asset); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, power tools and hand tools.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including communication and judgment, are required so that operational issues are addressed in a professional and efficient manner.
Successful completion of a preemployment physical and medical exam
Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement with a clear Driver's Abstract
Ongoing requirement for: maintaining fitness levels and maintaining all security clearances, passes and certifications.

Shift work is required as the department operates on a 24-hour basis.

Salary Range :
$65,116 to $85,107 per annum, based on 40-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
