About the role:


Samsara is looking for a talented photographer and video editor to help propel our brand and support our go-to-market objectives.

You will work under the Brand Creative Team in Marketing to capture onsite photos of Samsara customers in action and using Samsara products, customer and employee portraits, product photos, office photos, and capture both internal and external events.

We are seeking someone who has photography experience working on the move and in a controlled studio setting, can maintain a high bar of quality while hitting fast deadlines, can comfortably direct people to get the best shot, and above all else be an adaptable, solution-oriented collaborator.

You will do significant travel across the U.S. to various events which may include international travel to Canada, Mexico, and Europe. A portfolio is required to be considered.

In this role, you will:


  • Work with the Creative Director, the Video Team, Senior Brand Creative Team members, and Marketing Project Leads to conceptualize and capture all Samsara photography assets from start to finish preproduction, production, postproduction, archiving. There will also be occasional crossfunctional collaboration with teams outside of marketing, including external vendors.
  • Ingest, organize, catalog, and manage marketingapproved image assets to ensure they are current and readily available for creative and crossfunctional team use.
  • Edit videos that include content for social media, customer case study cutdowns, event recap sizzle reels, and presentation materials (GIF's, web headers). May include locating and gathering stock / broll assets as required.
  • Craft visual templates/guidelines for both customer and employeefacing content.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for this role:


  • 34 years professional experience in field & studio photography, and post production.
  • 23 years video editing experience.
  • Proficient in Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Google Suites, Dropbox.
  • Ability to travel to the Samsara SF HQ 3X a quarter and to customer shoots as needed.
  • A sophisticated eye for composition, color, and lighting, and can communicate concepts effectively.
