Kennel Attendant

WAGE:
$17 per hour for 3-month trial period; $18-20 per hour after trial is completed
STARTING DATE:
ASAP
SHIFTS
Shifts range from 6:45am - 11:45am and/or 1pm-6/6:30pm, Monday - Friday
About the Position
The main responsibilities of the Kennel Attendant position are to care for the health and welfare of the dogs in the facility including cleaning, exercising / feeding / medicating dogs & more cleaning
Primary Key Responsibilities
- Provide dogs with proper care and ensure that they are fed, watered, medicated, socialized & exercised properly.
- To treat dogs humanely, compassionately and with concern, and transmit these values to others both on and off the job.
- To treat clients with happiness & respect and give them daily updates on their dog's day at pickup.
- Working to maintain the entire facility is clean, sanitary, and run efficiently on an ongoing basis.
- Maintaining kennel runs, training facility & office are cleaned & well organized in an efficient manner on a daily basis.
- To perform other duties, as required, which are necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
- To work collaboratively with other staff (kennel, office & training staff), creating a positive and harmonious atmosphere among staff to enhancing team performance.
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation (we are not located on a bus route)
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service: patience, caring, professional, positive attitude, attention to detail, adaptability
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues & customers
- Highly motivated selfstarter who takes initiative with mínimal supervision
- Position is physically demanding and includes heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling which requires an individual with the ability to maintain a level of fitness and endurance to fulfill the required duties
- Ability to prioritize demands on time
Previous animal care or kennel experience is considered a great asset_
