The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated
Quality Control (QC) to monitor and enforce food safety and quality principles.

The incumbent will ensure our products meet and exceed the standards set forth by regulatory authorities and the Company, as well as provide an educative approach to all team members regarding all things food safety and quality.

This role reports directly to the FSQA Manager.

The QC Tech duties will include, but are not limited to:


  • Maintain and monitor all current food safety and quality programs (GMP, HACCP, BRC, Food defence & security, Supplier program, Prerequisite programs).
  • Conduct preoperational and internal inspection of the facility and identify any nonconformance.
  • Report any food safety and quality incidents, and complete incident report with root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Place on HOLD any non complaint ingredients, finished product or work in process products.
  • Verify daily production records and CCP verification on floor.
  • Monitor glass and brittle plastic policy, calibration program, environmental program, sanitation chemical concentration.
  • Conduct environmental swab & allergen tests as per Environmental program for food safety.
  • Conduct periodic line checks operations such as scaling, mixing, deposition, packaging for quality & food safety of the products.
  • Verify supplier approval program by reviewing COAs of upcoming ingredients, Food safety documents of supplier.
  • Conduct GMP checks and remedial action to correct nonconformances of production staff or any person entering the production area.
  • Provide GMP & other Food safety training to new & existing employees.
  • All other duties as assigned and required by the Company.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science or Diploma in food science, or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of food manufacturing process control.
  • Strong and thorough understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards and regulations
  • 12 years of experience in a Quality Control role in food or related industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • BRC experience is an asset
  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and presentation skills.
