Description

Community Navigation of Eastern Ontario (CNEO), provider of 211 services, is a non-profit community agency that offers Information and Referral services.

211 is an easy to remember, non-emergency telephone number that connects callers to a full range of community, social, government and health services in Ontario.

We also publish a variety of documents and specialized lists by using a computerized database of community services which has been created and maintained by CNEO.


Scope:


  • An excellent fluency in English and French, written and spoken
  • Ability to perform English to French and French to English translations
  • Have college and/or university experience (completed or in progress)
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written/documentation, listening)
  • Have some office experience (either clerical and/or administrative)
  • Ability to work with speed, accuracy and consistency and occasionally within tight deadlines
  • Strong technical and computer skills including all softwares within Microsoft Office, as well as skills such as writing, editing and researching
  • Have some experience pertaining to the human services sector and working with vulnerable populations
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to maintain consistency, and the ability to remember detailed information and to concentrate
  • Ability to multitask and to work collaboratively within a team
  • Be flexible to work in a rapidly changing environment

Overall Responsibility
The Bilingual Resource Specialist is responsible for updating, creating and maintaining database records in accordance with current data standards.

They are also responsible for high quality translation of records (English/French) and ensuring consistency, clarity and accuracy within the database.


Key areas of responsibility

  • Input of data received from various organizations or agencies
  • Translation and verification of bilingual database record information (English to French, French to English)
  • Liaising with agencies to gather and verify record information including programs offered, areas served and all other pertinent details
  • Research of new services or programs and record creation for the database
  • Updating the database so that the database remains current, accurate and adheres to professional standards
  • Various administrative tasks and other office related duties (ex: proofreading/translating documents, etc.)
  • Assists with production of specialized listings, including directories, maps and customized data resources

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

$20.74 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
We are currently using a hybrid model; working one set day per week in the office. When unable to maintain distance, masks are still work in the office. All applicable local COVID-19 guidelines will be applied.
