The Corporate Services Manager reports to the Director of Family Law and Court Services, and is a member of the Divisional senior management team.

The position must have flexibility to tackle a broad range of tasks in diverse program areas with various financial nuances.

Responsible for overall financial and administrative management of Family Law and Court Services Division, the incumbent ensures that the following functions are completed:
budget preparation, forecasting, purchasing, inventory control, fleet aging and replacement management, records management and maintenance scheduling.


Duties include:


  • Assist the Senior Management Team in long range financial planning for the Division;
  • Advise and assist mangers in the quarterly forecast and annual budgetary preparation;
  • Prepare and implements budget reduction strategies as required
  • Lead the divisional submission of capital budget requirements;
  • Provide expert advice and assistance to program managers on appropriate accounting principals used in the day to day operation of the various trust funds.
  • Continual observation of accounting guidelines to ensure changes in principals are reflected in the operation and reporting of the trust accounts.
  • Periodic review of current policy and procedures to ensure compliance with the most up to date accounting standards on Trust Fund Accounting;
  • Random sampling of transactions in the various Trust Fund accounts to ensure controls set are being adhered to;
  • Working with the Director, Program Managers, IT Consultants, and Departmental Corporate Service Administrators to identify and create an annual work plan of project priorities for the division;
  • Provide stakeholders with a business case that determines the feasibility of the project and provides purpose and project requirements.
  • Provide lead support to programs regarding telecommunications, file and records management, equipment upgrade, program space and accommodations, human resource planning and funding;
  • Prepares Executive Council Memorandums and Treasury Board Submissions as required;
  • Divisional lead on tendering and procurement processes throughout the division;
  • Directly supervises 1 program analyst and 1 finance clerk
  • Supervisor and oversee staff engaged in the financial processes for all IT solutions deployed and developed across the Division.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Recognized postsecondary degree in business administration or a related field
  • Professional Accounting Designation
  • Extensive experience in a financial administration position
  • Considerable experience in Budget cycles and budget preparation
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in program management,
  • Driver's License

Other:


  • Training and/or experience in trust fund accounting principles would be an asset
  • Knowledge of the Oracle Financial System would be an asset
  • Research and program evaluation experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of business, word processing, spreadsheet software

$31.19-$47.94 per hour
