Overview:
The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) is a fully accredited healthcare organization located in the beautiful community of Goderich on the shores of Lake Huron.
With an annual budget of $25M, AMGH offers a range of services including 24 hour emergency, intensive care, obstetrics, general surgery, inpatient adult psychiatry and multi-site community mental health.
The organization hosts a comprehensive range of specialty and regional healthcare services such as a renal dialysis satellite and telestroke site.
The South Huron Hospital Association (SHHA) was established in 1953 and serves a wide catchment area, including the Municipality of South Huron and its adjacent communities.
Our outpatient services encompass the continuum of care as we strike to meet the evolving needs of our patients and surrounding communities.
The incumbent will be responsible for the development, administration and implementation of programs and services related to patient flow, safety and IPAC measures across the hospital.
The incumbent will be knowledgeable with current legislation and trends related to IPAC and fostering internal and external communications with all stakeholders.
The position supports and improves the quality of health care through the implementation of best practices in the areas of Infection Prevention and Control and operational patient flow processes.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with CNO as a Registered Nurse
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or a defined commitment to obtaining such
- Courses in Health Care Administration an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Thorough understanding of related and pending legislation
- Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) preferred
- BCLS certification preferred
Required Skills:
- 3 years' experience working in IPAC
- A minimum of 3 years in healthcare
- Demonstrated progressively responsible work experience with at least 35 years supervisory / management experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of occupational health required
- Demonstrated knowledge of principals of IPAC
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues and to establish collaborative working relationships.
- Ability to prepare correspondence and reports
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in problem solving identify opportunities for action
- Demonstrated Computer proficiency
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent verbal, written and facilitative skills
- Flexible, adaptable and professional demeanor
- Proven organizational, teaching and presentation skills
Abilities:
