    Your Role

    As a Team Lead, you will report to, and work closely with, the Operations Manager to ensure the support needs of all individuals residing in the assigned home(s) are met or exceeded, while seeing to it that staff members feel valued, motivated and committed to excellence in all their areas of responsibility. Providing leadership and guidance in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, you will contribute to ensuring that the environment is safe and that the daily administrative requirements of operating the home are met, including staffing levels.

    PRIMARY DUTIES

    Leading by example in your assigned home(s) as a Team Lead, you will:

    • Build strong relationships and rapport with all supported individuals within the home to gain a good understanding of their preferences, needs, triggers, responses, etc.
    • Coach and monitor staff to ensure everyone understands all aspects of care, individual support plans and behavioural support plans, escalating any performance concerns to the Operations Manager.
    • Support Clinical and Operational team in developing the meal and recreation plan, ensuring adherence of same.
    • Assist in providing orientation to new staff to ensure continuity of support and care for individuals.
    • Take inventory and order all household supplies and goods that have been approved by the Manager.
    • Complete weekly/monthly/quarterly progress reports and submit to the Operations Manager and the Clinical Team.
    • Perform day-to-day audits of documentation.
    • Track and identify trends and escalate issues accordingly.
    • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for all supported individuals and employees, by participating in staff safety training and home inspections, and ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
    • Responsible for the creation of staff schedules within the homes in addition to timekeeping to ensure staff hours are accurate.
    • Ensure individual and household budgets are maintained in collaboration with the Operations Manager

    What you will need to be successful

    • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with complex cognitive behavioural challenges.
    • Have prior supervisory experience in this field.
    • Strong Communication Skills
    • Valid Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR.
    • Clear Criminal Record Check, Adult and Child Abuse registry check valid in the last 3months.
    • Minimum Grade Twelve education, preferably post-secondary, Developmental Service Worker Certificate, or a combination of related education/experience
    • Possess a working knowledge of Residential Care Licensing, funder and Labour guidelines.
    • Strong Knowledge and demonstration of the guidelines of the Vulnerable Person's Act (VPA).
    • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
    • Above average communication skills (both verbal and oral), organizational skills, the ability to work effectively within a team environment, sound decision making abilities and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
    • Level 6 English (CLB).
    • Ability to foster a team approach within the home.
    • Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends
    • Ability to travel within the community- Valid Driver's license and insurance required.
