Here at Anika Youth Services, we support youth in the Surrey and Langley area that are in need of wrap around services, including long-term housing, outreach services, and life skills programming.

At AYS, we create individualized plans that address the youth's mental health, social, behavioural, and emotional needs.

Currently we are looking to hire 2 addictions support worker to work the hours of (3pm-11pm) or (11pm-7am) working
4 days on 4 days off. These are
8 hour shifts that enable you to work directly in a Home support setting with our youth.

These positions allow you to have extensive front line exposure and positively impact the lives of our most vulnerable youth.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2 year diploma in child and youth care, psychology, criminology, or related social services field
  • Two (2) years' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Be able to work shifts; (3pm11pm), (11pm7am)
  • Knowledge of community, social and health resources
  • Understanding of mental health, substance misuse, attachment and trauma informed practice
  • Knowledge of problems encountered by youth with substance misuse issues ;
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment
  • Understanding of the barriers that prevent youth from connecting with services

Class 5 License and reliable vehicle_
Mandatory_

  • Standard First-Aid Level 1 with CPR
  • Clear criminal record
