Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an Accounting Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba office.


Accounting Manager ensures that the financial reporting requirements are achieved through sound business management practices, strong financial system processes and controls, proactive analysis and planning, effective inter-department problem solving and coninuious process development. This role requires a leader who has both a high level of attention to detail and quality assurance and someone who cannot only present the results but articulate what they mean and provide recommendations to meet operational and financial objectives.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Prepares and reconciles financial statements and reports according to company and regulatory accounting policies and procedures on monthly and annual basis.
  • Provides effective internal controls. Identifies and resolves accounting system issues.
  • Prepares internal and external financial reports.
  • Reviews and interprets company directives and policies to guide overall accounting policies and practices.
  • Supports the development and deployment of new accounting systems and tools.
  • Manages employees performing the activities of gathering, analyzing, interpreting, preparing and reconciling financial information according to Company and regulatory accounting policies and procedures.
  • Preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual finance reports completed on a timely basis.
  • Understanding of all the line items of the financial statements and be able to explain in detail the variance in results from forecast.
  • Creates reports for internal stakeholders that provide analysis of actual results compared to budgets and forecasts including variance analysis.
  • Develops and executes standard work, implements policies and procedures and supports operational goals.
Leads and actively engages in process improvements.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees including ensuring equity and inclusion within the team.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical accounting approaches, products and processes.
  • Ensure records and processes meet the requirement of auditors and government agencies.
  • Actively engage in internal and external auditors and investigate their finding and recommendations.
  • Manages intercompany transitions and transfer pricing with International Boeing sites.
  • Responsible for preparing Boeing pension plan financial statements.
  • Prepares consolidated financial statement and tax preparation for Boeing Canada.
  • Responsible for Government remittances and selfassessments (eg.
PST, Withholding tax).

  • Responsible for the sites SOX compliance.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 58 years financial accounting experience
  • 35 years Management experience preferably in finance
  • CPA or other accounting designation
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):


  • SAP experience
  • Tax accounting and reporting
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
