Description

We are looking for SINGLE FACER OPERATOR - Wet End Operator for our Ancaster location. This position will be reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Broad Purpose

:

To safely operate and maintain the equipment/machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy

General Job Duties

:

Be a team leader/member and assist double backer operator when needed
Prepare the single facers for start up, set all pressures required, and operate single facers, and run to speed and production targets, this may require overtime
Locate starch pans into run position, fill with starch, place roll stock into stands and position in machine, feed paper through splicers then into single facers
Make adjustments as required i.e. wrap, starch, etc.
Visually inspect for any nonconformances
Prepare machine for shift shut down when required which may require overtime
Perform quality checks before and during runs, make adjustments as necessary
Perform housekeeping as required ie: cleanup conveyor and rollers
Follow all ISO procedures and HACCP procedures as required
Complete all required documentation ie: production sheets
Report all problems to your supervisor when they occur
Daily clean up and preventive maintenance at end of shift
Other sundries duties as assigned by Supervisor
Abide by all rules and regulations of the Company

Safety Responsibility and Accountability

:

Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed before use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
Report all hazards / problems to your Supervisor when they occur.

Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.

Preuse inspection form
Use Manager plus and place a work request
Use of hazard reporting form
Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi

- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse

Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time

Education

:

Minimum Grade 10

Basic Math

Essential Skills/Qualifications

:

Previous manufacturing experiences an asset

Machine operation skills

Organization skills

Good communication

Flexibility to work rotating shifts

Team Player

Self starter
