Role Summary:


The Dimensional Coordinator performs CMM programming, fixture calibration, gauge layouts, GR&R, MSA studies, SPC analysis, part layouts and systems support for QA and other department requirements.

Key Qualifications/Requirements:

Post-secondary education in a technical field and a minimum 3 years of related experience is preferred.
-
Previous CMM programming experience is preferred.
-
Must have strong background and experience in Automotive Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
-
Strong technical background and experience in metrology, GD&T, SPC, GR&R, fixtures and CAD is preferred.
-
Ability to inspect and measure parts for conformance with specific dimensions, using precision measuring instruments such as Laser Scanning, CMM, Optical Comparator, Height Gauge, Micrometers, Thread Gauges, Fixtures, Microscopes, etc.

Previous experience in software such as Polyworks, NDI Scanning, Cognex Opti Cell, Geomajic an asset.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Good reporting and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.) are required.

Must possess good mathematical skills, experience in geometry and trigonometry.

Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA. Follows and ensures the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

-
Ability to program Laser Scanner & CMM to accurately measure components, parts, fixtures etc.
-
Ability to compare recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.(CAD and GD&T).
-
Ability/understands how to blue and scribe parts, generate CAD from scan data, provide tooling sketches for fixtures and perform part layouts.
-
Able to complete fixture calibration and gauge R&R Studies.
-
Understands the requirements of MSA. Responsible to ensure we meet all the requirements.

Able to Certify all engineering changes and update fixture database and inspection programs.
-
Understands and able to performs correlation studies.
-
Able to provide standard reports for calibration status on routine basis.
-
Full understanding of SPC and use of statistical studies and reports.

Equipment:
Co-ordinate Measuring Machine, various measuring instruments/tools, PC, printer, keyboard

Poly Works, Roamer Arm, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Mechanical Desktop, etc.


RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:


Under the general direction of the QA Department or his/her delegates, the Dimensional Coordinator works independently using established guidelines. The Dimensional Coordinator requires good communication skills, both written and verbal, to give/exchange information with others. The working environment is a lab setting with exposure to noise/temperature during time spent on the plant floor.
