Scope of Position:


This position will oversee the development and the management of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and operations for EDF Renewables' Offshore Wind projects.

The Offshore Quality Manager will have high work capacity, proven experience in quality processes in the Renewables or Oil & Gas Industry, and a passion to build quality control capabilities, working closely with contractors.

This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing with various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization to be successful.


  • Responsible for all quality management within the projects. Responsible for developing, planning and managing the strategy for quality assurance and quality control activities for the Project. Identify and promote improvement in Project performance.
  • Maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) and the Quality Management Plan (QMP). Develop and maintain an effective quality management framework to demonstrate compliance with the Project procedures and contractual requirements including the handover process.
  • Implement and manage the process for the management of technical change.
  • Develop and maintain a nonconformance system to capture and report nonconformance and corrective action.
  • Manage the Project quality team and ensure that the resources in the quality team are adequately skilled for the tasks.
  • Regular reporting as per the Project procedures and as requested by the Projects.
  • Manage the internal and external audit schedules.
  • Organize relevant feedback in the Project.
  • Work with EPCI Management to complete management review and develop improvement programs.
  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product/service quality.
  • Support the EPCI Managers, Technical Leads and Quality Engineer in fulfilling the quality requirements of their Packages.
  • Review contractors' quality documentation.
  • Organize and facilitate Quality meetings with the Contractor to address all Quality issues.
  • Assist the Packages in the coordination of the inspection activities defined in the respective ITP's; including the definition of the need for QC Inspectors and their coordination.
  • Initiate and ensure Packages followup on nonconformity register (NCR) for the Project and assist the Project Team in handling NCRs.
  • Initiate and/or participate to root cause analysis following identification of deviations.
  • Planning and execution of all project QA audits and in defining the extent of quality inspections.
  • Ensure quality records are delivered per the PQMP (assurance flowchart, ITPs and commissioning plans).

Responsibilities:

30% - Develop and maintain an effective quality management framework to demonstrate compliance with the Project procedures and contractual requirements including the handover process

30% - Support the EPCI Managers, Technical Leads and Quality Engineer in fulfilling the quality requirements of their Packages

20% - Regular reporting as per the Project procedures

10% - Maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) and the Quality Management Plan (QMP)

5% - Maintain a high degree of knowledge related to the overall activities within the Implementation Team and other departments

5% - Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with executives as well as with staff members, and outside vendors and providers
  • A team player, able to contribute to an organization that is fastpaced, hardworking and operating in a highly competitive and changing industry
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, drive and determination
  • Ability to work in a multicultural context and a fastpaced JV environment
  • Strong attention to detail and high degree of organizational skills
  • Expert knowledge of quality assurance and quality control procedures
  • Knowledge of change management and document controls procedures required

Education/Experience:

  • 5 years+ experience in offshore wind desired
  • 10 years+ experience in quality management of large industrial projects required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Business required. Master's Degree or other advanced degree (JD) desired

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Requires in-depth knowledge of the Renewable Energy or Oil & Gas industry

Supervision of Others: 1-5 employees


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit or stand at computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading. Regularly required to walk or stand.

Comfortable boarding vessels to visit offshore projects.


Working Conditions:


80% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), with the remaining 20% of the time spent travelling to visit suppliers and contractors, EDF Renewables offices and to attend conferences including international travel.
