    A division of the Population Health and Value Based Health Systems portfolio, the Clinical Transformation (CT) Teams advance integrated care for patients and their caregivers through the implementation and operation of virtual care programs, projects and resources. We endeavor to improve outcomes, have a positive impact on patient and provider experiences and demonstrate value for investment.

    The Business Analyst is a member of the matrixed Virtual Care Advisory Services team who enable the transformation of health care through the delivery of new models of care, aligned with best practices, typically enabled by technology. Work may also support co-design, expansion, and evolution of provincial, regional, and local virtual care programs in alignment with population health management priorities. The senior business analyst will contribute to the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of high-quality reports. With the support of a cross-functional team, the senior business analyst will identify program /project requirements, collect and analyze information, and develop and maintain process and project documentation to ensure effective and efficient program/project delivery. This is a multi-faceted position requiring excellent critical thinking skills, verbal and written communication, external partner engagement, analysis, and program/project management.

    This role will collaborate with internal OH teams and may at time be required to work with external partners such as Ministry of Health (MoH), Ontario Health Teams (OHTs), healthcare organizations (HCOs), vendors, health care providers (HCPs), and patients, to support reporting and analysis aligned with strategic priorities and objectives.

    Here is what you will be doing:

  • Critical Thinking - gather and analyze project/program data to facilitate strategy and decision-making
  • SME - be a content and technical expert related to provincial virtual care programs and related reporting, data management, data quality and analytical methodologies
  • Reporting - develops, implements and manages analytical tools, templates, dashboards, surveys and other documentation to support Virtual Care program/project reporting
  • Accountability – gather data to enable timely Virtual Care reporting requirements internally and externally – eg – OH annual business plan reporting, MoH reporting, partner requests for ad hoc reporting
  • Risk - monitor program/project deliverables, analyze overall impact of risks and recommend solutions; escalate issues when appropriate
  • Knowledge Translation – translate data into meaningful and easily understood stories
  • Policies - ensure compliance with data standards and procedures, including internal approvals processes and production requirements, when applicable
  • Partner Engagements – build an understanding of program/project processes to facilitate reporting; contribute to advisory committees, working groups, other groups as a data and reporting SME
  • Collaborate - develop strong relationships with colleagues across the organization to understand business and operations need and activities related to data analysis
  • Here is what you will need to be successful:

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related discipline, business administration, or statistics
  • Minimum 5 years of business development, reporting and analytics, preferably in a health-related field
  • Experience supporting/enabling large-scale strategic projects and/or innovative programs/projects in complex clinical environments preferred
  • Experience engaging with partners to collect data
  • Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of Ontario's health care system and the overarching provincial health care strategy (including Digital First for Health Strategy)
  • Broad understanding of virtual care models, solutions and platforms
  • Ability to build, enhance and maintain relationships with health care leaders, OHTs, and other key partners
  • Can remain focused with numerous demands at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Can prioritize and effectively anticipate and respond/escalate risks and issues as they arise
  • Good presentation skills to support effective and productive meetings.
  • Excellent computer skills required (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Plan and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of current trends in global virtual care; a learning posture to support the spread of successful models and best practices across Ontario.
  • Entrepreneurial aptitude; comfortable working in a dynamic team environment with some ambiguity
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Works well under pressure and uses good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
