Are you interested in exploring longitudinal family practice in Urban Greater Victoria but not ready to commit long-term?

Do you want to try out different practice styles and different locations without having to search them out?

Do you want locum opportunities to come to you without having the hassles of having to set them up?

We are seeking physicians for an innovative locum program that will provide casual and short-term practice coverage to family physicians within the evolving Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in Greater Victoria.

The program will reduce the hassles of coordinating locum coverage for both locums and clinics.

The new program offers locums guaranteed work, flexibility to work short-term or last minute and receive mentor support.

Locums receive administrative support to coordinate placements and matching with physicians and clinics looking for your services, as well as paid orientation time, paid charting time, and length of service bonuses as applicable.

This is a unique opportunity for new graduates and experienced physicians who are considering longitudinal family practice in Urban Greater Victoria or looking for consistent work with no attachments.

Locums in program receive $849.50 for an 8-hour day of service (includes 2 hours indirect care). After 60 days of service $6,000.00 bonus and $949.50 per day of service. Host physicians receive separate payment of overhead from program.

Overhead
Program pays $364 to host physicians per day, pro-rated for any partial day.

Locum opportunities in Greater Victoria, extending out to Sooke, Westshore, the Saanich Peninsula and Sidney.

Pilot program is jointly hosted by the Victoria Division of Family Practice (VDFP) and the South Island Division of Family Practice (SIDFP).
