    Our client, a leading consulting engineer in Ontario, specializes in planning, designing, and constructing transportation infrastructure such as roads, highways, bridges, and transit systems. The company fosters vast employee growth and development, promoting a culture of high achievement orientation. Currently, they are seeking an Intermediate Bridge Engineer to join their team in the Structural Engineering for Bridge and Structures Group office in BARRIE, Ontario.

    This role offers the opportunity to apply strong technical and interpersonal skills while managing projects and engaging with clients. You will work alongside professionals dedicated to delivering quality services to major clients.

    Bridge Engineer Responsibilities and Duties:


    1. Structural design of new bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and structural repairs in compliance with CSA-S-CHBDC.
    2. Coordinating with clients, approving authorities, and external design team members.
    3. Preparing Engineering Drawings, Specifications, and Cost Estimates, and overseeing construction administration for replacement and/or rehabilitation of existing bridge structures.
    4. Maintaining existing client base and expanding business development to secure future bridge projects.
    5. Ensuring Technical and Financial accountability for the Bridges group.
    6. Coordinating, Coaching, and Mentoring intermediate and junior staff.

    Qualifications:

    1. Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.
    2. Minimum of years of experience in designing transportation structures in Ontario.
    3. Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CAN-S), and the MTO Structural Manual.
    4. Proficiency in structural analysis software, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and MS Project.
    5. Potential for MTO experience in designing and evaluating complex structures (multi-span) is an asset.
    6. Independent, organized, and motivated team player with excellent oral and written (English) communication skills.
    7. Strong ability to develop effective relationships with clients and within the organization.
    8. Proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
