RTC Rail Solutions is hiring a Railway Track Foreman with a minimum of 3 years track experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Track Foreman is responsible for managing and directing a crew of workers to ensure the completion of projects and meeting targets.

The Foreman must ensure the safety, quality, production, and client satisfaction throughout the duration of each project.


Please note:


  • This job may require travel throughout Western Canada for short periods of time.
  • This job will require working in all types of weather conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Review project documentation and plans to ensure that the work is built to the most recent specifications and scope of work.
  • Plan work activities with Project Manager to develop best methods to carry out the tasks.
  • Ensure that proper resources are in place for the completion of the project. i.e., labor, material, and equipment.
  • Ensure crew performance and productivity matches the company goals, safety requirements, company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily job briefings. Mitigate any findings immediately as required.
  • During daily briefing with crew review production goals, performance, safety, hazards, and to request feedback from the workers.
  • Maintain a dedication to safety at all times by modeling, providing education and enforcing safe work practices, company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that proper Personal Protective Equipment is available and used by all field personnel.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager, and client to ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Communicate with subcontractors to coordinate work, goals, etc.
  • Perform a variety of related administrative tasks such as timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, etc.
  • Perform other related administrative or project based duties as assigned.
  • Provide coaching and instruction to all crew members.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Organize, develop, and communicate schedules and tasks to crew members
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Perform physical work in a field environment including bending, lifting
  • Safe use of hand and power tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Lead a team and motivate workers.
  • Exercise sound judgment and give clear direction.
  • Work effectively in a team environment as a contributing team player.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 3 years of Railway experience:


  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license or higher:
-
Must reside in, be willing to travel to, or relocate to Red Deer, Alberta:

  • Valid certification in CROR is an asset but we will provide if needed.
  • Training in First Aid, WHMIS, H2S Alive, and other mandatory courses as required. (all provided by RTC Rail Solutions)
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills

Salary:
$25.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

  • Railway: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Red Deer, AB (required)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
