At this time, the

Halifax Port Authority ("HPA") requires a


Application Support Specialist

This position reports to the Manager, IT Support Services.


This position requires strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, in addition to working knowledge of business systems, SharePoint, Power Automate and Dynamics 365Knowledge of the principles of providing customer satisfaction in high pressure environments, with reasonable knowledge of project management processes (agile methodology) considered a plus.


Must have strong communication skills with the ability to listen, understand and adjust to different communication styles, and being able to explain complex ideas to people with limited IT and systems knowledge.

Must have the ability to work well with others in an integrated team environment. Good organizational skills to gather, document and assess business requirements, and the ability to effectively multi-task.


Accountabilities
SharePoint and additional Office 365 cloud app administration.

Creates user documentation and delivers end user training and provides end user support.

Collaborates with users and business process workflows to help identify process improvements.

Complies with HPA's Occupational Health and Safety Policy (HR and all Occupational Health and Safety regulations as outlined by the Canada Labour Code. Demonstrates a commitment to promoting a safety culture while ensuring all safety procedures, policies, and best practices are followed.


Complies with HPA's Environmental Policy and demonstrates knowledge and adherence to the Environmental Management System (EMS), including associated programs and procedures applicable to daily tasks.

Detailed roles and responsibilities are included in the EMS Core Manual.

These are only the basic and primary duties; related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the Authority.

The salary range for this role is $59,796 to $71,18- _._
