- Current CRNM (College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba) as a Nurse or CPMB (College of Paramedics of Manitoba) as an Advanced Care Paramedic or MARRT (Manitoba Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists) as a Respiratory Therapist
- University degree in nursing or respiratory therapy or Advanced Care Paramedic Certificate, or an equivalent level of education and experience
- Ability to obtain Instructor Certification as required in areas like: BCLS, First Aid, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, TNCC and CAMATA
- Previous experience working with Microsoft Office such as Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
- Previous management experience is considered an asset
- Previous experience as an air medical provider considered an asset
- Strong leadership with progressive management experience required
- Must possess a valid Driver's license
- Must possess a valid Canadian passport
- Must have ability to apply for and obtain a RAIC pass
- Aboriginal Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training
- Provide direction, leadership, and training to medical personnel in partnership with Associate Directors
- Maintain all training programs such as classroom, internal computer-based training (CBT) and internal on-the-job training (OTJ)
- Ensure that policies, processes and procedures are in place to maintain regulatory compliance of education including contractual requirements
- Participates in the development of, implementation and maintaining of medical control protocols
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Work with Health Facilities to collaborate, provide team building, networking and community outreach programs in communities
- To provide the best input and education, maintain familiarity with remote bases, environments and the needs of staff.
- Perform training needs analysis and identify learning requirements through discussion with the appropriate personnel and chart review
- Maintains the training program, employee records and files via electronic training software
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by monitoring confidential personal health information processing
- In collaboration with the VP of Medical, and Director of Air Medical, identify and develop training materials for AME's and Pilot personnel
- Works with the VP of Medical and Director to choose new equipment for the operation, develop and provide appropriate orientation for staff through in-servicing and distance presentations. This may involve equipment manufacturers and distributors.
- Works closely with the Equipment and Supplies Coordinator to ensure front line equipment and supplies are up to date and within budget requirements
- Get feedback from staff toward development of future training programs and educational sessions.
- Provide training that has a clinical perspective during northern visits and all training programs
- Participate in the maintenance of Total Quality Management Program, in collaboration with Director of Medical, which will include reviewing and auditing patient care records
- Participate in the Safety Management System, attend meetings and aid in investigation and development of corrective actions
- Participate in preparation for inspections and certification such as MB Health, CAMTS and Accreditation Canada
- Provide immunizations and first aid to employees as required
- Assist with programs such as fit testing for N95 masks
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Air Medical
- When operationally required to do so, the Air Medical Educator may need to travel to other KAL operated regions to perform training needs.

- Position is full time 5 days/40hours/week based at head office in Winnipeg. Some weekends and evenings may be required.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Air Medical, the Educator is responsible for the overall training program and education including onboarding, required certificates, identifying training needs and developing training materials and curriculums for all medical divisions at Keewatin Air.
The Educator works closely with the Medical Director to maintain best practice, continually updating Medical Control Protocols and all aspects of training including reviews of equipment.
