Job Summary

What is the opportunity?


This role will be supporting RBC Investor Services where the incumbent will be responsible for managing daily Recordkeeping activities for over 75 Mutual Fund and Segregated funds Manufacturers.

The Associate Director for Shareholder Services typically manages a specialized team comprised of supervisors, managers, professionals.

They will also be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures meet all regulatory requirements, that all client SLAs have been achieved, and that all employees follow all corporate compliance policies.


What will you do?

  • Responsibility and accountability for the Canadian Shareholder Services operations in alignment and in execution of a global operating model.
  • This role manages 6 teams (overall 50+ staff each with a Manager) who are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all unitholder activity and maintenance of unitholder records, in line with internal policies, client requirements and well as external regulatory requirements on behalf of various Investment and Insurance Companies that offer investments such as Mutual Funds, Pooled Funds and Segregated Funds.
  • Responsible for the overall management, organization and direction of the Transaction Processing team
  • Responsible for the development of the Managers (direct reports) specifically, but accountable for same for team as a whole
  • The role is responsible for increasing the operational/administrative effectiveness and cost effectiveness of the Transaction Processing team through a focus on increasing quality and efficiency of staff through the efficient use of performance measurement metrics, functionalization and standardization of all processes.
  • Responsible for achieving excellence in client service delivery and is wholly accountable for the results of the Transaction Processing team including service level results and client satisfaction
  • Accountable for leadership around the overall quality and productivity of the Shareholder Services team in Canada
  • Represents the Shareholder Services team at client or prospective client meetings, as required, including around escalated issues

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a Mutual Fund or Seg. Fund back office.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing people.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and get excellent results in a fastpaced, high stress environment
  • Demonstrated high level client management skills
