AECOM is in need of a Project Coordinator to work with our client TTC on some of their high-profile public Transit projects.

The job incumbent will be offered a regular, full-time position with AECOM and work on secondment to TTC.

After the secondment is compete, the employee will return to AECOM to be re-assigned to another project. The home office for the employee at that time can be either the AECOM Toronto, Markham or Whitby office (with work from home options available also.)

Provides coordination on project activities through the project lifecycle, from initial planning to completion. Provides support to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.

Key Job Functions


  • Define, monitor and review across all project phases, including: project initiation, planning, execution, control, close out tasks/activities, resource requirements, dependencies, and interdependencies.
  • Act as a key point of contact. Liaise and coordinate with the project team members, TTC staff, internal and external stakeholders as required to collaborate and exchange information.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental business plans, project charter, program management plans and processes, risk and assumptions logs, budget objectives and workforce requirements. Develop project schedules, integration and dependency milestones based on input from stakeholders and the project team.
  • Perform a variety of cost / budget studies and research assignments, requiring analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Monitor progress and performance against established terms of reference and work plans. Prepare variance reports and explanations for management, identifying potential problem areas and recommend corrective action as required.
  • Prepare, coordinate and review contracts, work plans, reports and documents. Obtain sign-offs as required.
  • Track and monitor outstanding issues, dependencies and interdependencies to ensure timely resolution.
  • Demonstrates behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.   • Manage project scope, budget, schedule and risks.
  • Plan, organize and prioritize/re-prioritize tasks / activities / projects to meet section and organizational goals, particularly under tight deadlines and prioritization/re-prioritization of business objectives.
  • Demonstrate consistency in taking initiatives and work productivity in management of project objectives and milestones.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of mediums.
  • Create, document, and manage information and records.
  • Understand the organization's fiscal environment

Minimum Requirements:


  • Completion of a university degree in an architectural discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Cumulative experience in the design and construction management of medium and/or large, multi-disciplinary projects would be an asset.
  • PMP certification would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and provide support to multi-disciplined teams consisting of Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers, Senior Project Coordinators, Designers and Consultants.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current architectural principles and practices combined with a comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design.
  • Familiarity with project management information systems and reporting as it relates to control of scope, scheduling and cost.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, and knowledge of pertinent Acts and Regulations (Construction Lien Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.).
