We're looking for a Content creator with a keen sense of marketing to help us elevate the Obasan brand. You'll contribute to the ideation, design and production of key marketing and communications projects.

You'll work in close collaboration with our marketing director to grow the brand's notoriety and you'll play a big role in helping a small Canadian business thrive.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and production of marketing materials that elevate our brand across
  • Contribute to creative ideation sessions on how to elevate our brand's growth, marketing,
- notoriety and fan base.

  • Develop a social media content calendar that helps fulfill the company's brand vision and
- business objectives.

  • Create engaging social media content in line with the social media calendar.
  • Write content (copy) for social media and marketing communications.
  • Manage social media posting to develop and nurture our online communities.
  • Capture ongoing pictures and video content that can be used in marketing and
- organize/collaborate on product, brand and lifestyle photo/video shoots.

  • Collaborate on the ongoing refinement of our website's visual standards and layout.
  • Update/upload content on our website and make minor changes as needed.
  • Cultivate an understanding of industry trends and share your insights with the team.
  • Produce presentation materials that support marketing priorities and/or team culture.
  • Source and edit images that maintain our brand standards across channels.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of creative and marketing meetings.
  • Communicate with partners and suppliers (ex. printers and packaging manufacturers)
- regarding quotes, color proofs, project timelines, print runs, etc.

  • Help produce, write, format marketing and communications content (web content,
- newsletters, advertising inserts, product catalogs, etc.)

  • Proof creative work to ensure accuracy of information & visual standards
  • Help foster a culture of marketing excellence internally.
  • Contribute to other relevant priorities from time to time.

Profile and Skills

  • Degree in Design
  • Communication
  • Multimedia
  • Marketing or any other combination
- of relevant training or experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)
  • A strong attention to detail and developed aesthetic sense.
  • Verbally proficient in English and French (priority in English)
  • Great English writing skills
  • An interest in new tech, social media, ecommerce, design, etc.
  • A deep understanding of the design/creation process.
  • A sharp understanding of color and typography.
  • A talent for photography, videography and editing.
  • Experience in a retail marketing environment is a strong asset.
  • An understanding of other design tools and software is an asset.
  • Organizational skills that help you manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A sense of autonomy; you're not scared to take initiative.
  • You're keen to work as part of a small, growing team and possess excellent interpersonal
- skills.

This is a full time permanent position. The position will require onsite work.
