Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean, School of Community Services in the Community, Justice, and Fitness Studies Division, located at the Welland Campus.
The Associate Dean is responsible for planning and implementing the academic delivery of School of Community Services courses and programs, in line with college budget and enrolment forecasts, while providing leadership in the development and renewal of curriculum, effective hiring and development of faculty, and management of workload assignments.
This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and college stakeholders to ensure that courses and programs are delivered effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and student success.
Resolving academic integrity cases, dealing with student issues, attending community and college recruitment events, and participating on college-wide committees are also responsibilities of the Associate Dean.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field of study
- Minimum 9 years combined experience which includes academic leadership, management and industry experience as well a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching at a postsecondary/adult level
- Experience with supervision of staff within a unionized environment
- Academic planning, enrollment management and budget experience
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Demonstrated experience in developing studentcentered programs and supports
- Advanced leadership, team building, collaboration, and networking skills
- Superior skills in communication, organization, problem solving/conflict resolution, and prioritizing within a multifaceted role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in academic leadership
- Enrolment management and budgeting experience
- Proven ability in moving ideas from conceptual to operational
- Experience with program or curriculum design and development in a postsecondary/adult environment
