The General Foreman (Civil) Role:
As our General Foreman, you'll be the right-hand to our Superintendent, overseeing all field and site-specific construction activities. You'll manage budget, schedule, performance, and profitability of commercial construction projects while leading and inspiring the Chandos crew on-site. Effective communication is key as you collaborate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and other field staff.
Your Duties Include:
- Assisting the Superintendent in providing leadership and direction for project activities
- Helping to identify and generate requests for information
- Planning, organizing, and managing all site construction manpower and materials
- Completing required documentation, such as logbooks, safety records, and timesheets
- Monitoring productivities throughout the project life cycle and making necessary corrections
- Managing subcontractor relationships to maintain timelines and scope of work
- Promoting sustainable construction practices and minimizing environmental impact
Required Skills:

Journeyman trade certification with Red Seal and/or Technical diploma:

Gold Seal is considered an asset:

Concrete experience an asset:

Leadership training and safety certificates are recommended

Five or more years of commercial construction experience
:
- Good timemanagement skills.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and plans.
- An understanding of all construction trades and techniques.
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace regulations, ordinances, legislation and building codes.
- Travel to site and offsite locations is required.
- May be required to work out of town.
- Will be working both indoors and outdoors.
- Will be exposed to potential hazards and conditions of the construction site.
- As this is a supervisory role, hours of work, and days of work may vary from week to week based upon the business needs

Salary:
$42.00-$45.00 per hour
