Educational Assistant 3
Supportive. Patient. Dedicated.
Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 3 for a work assignment at Morinville Public School.
What You'll Be Doing
Under the direction of administration, the Educational Assistant will:
Provide academic and behavioural support to students with complex needs and disabilities.
Implement individualised education plans and positive behaviour supports.
Assist students with daily routines, mobility, and personal care as required.
Support inclusive learning environments that foster engagement and success.
Collaborate effectively with the teaching team and other school staff.
Strong understanding of proactive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
Plan and implement ABLLs programming
What You Bring
Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate.
Minimum of two years' experience working with students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Formal training in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behaviour management strategies.
Current First Aid, CPR, and TCIS certification.
Knowledge and experience with special needs support, including tube feeding, toileting, diapering, lifts, and wheelchairs.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate in challenging situations.
Equivalencies consisting of a combination of education and a minimum of five years of related experience as an EA2 may be considered.
