The

Line Cook is responsible for preparing food to be served in Parallel 49 Brewing Company's Street Kitchen Restaurant. You will be responsible for learning all menu items, preparing, cooking and plating food, keeping a clean and organized Kitchen and following all safety guidelines.

We're hiring temporary Line Cooks to join our team until October 8th.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and plate food in our Street Kitchen Restaurant according to Parallel 49 Brewing Company recipes and standards
  • Operate the flat top, gas range, grill, fryers, and ovens safely
  • Follow food safety guidelines and ensure that all food is prepared and stored safely
  • Coordinate with other Kitchen team members and Servers to ensure that food is prepared and delivered in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, and assist with cleaning the kitchen at the end of your shift
  • Set up and stock your station with necessary supplies and ingredients for service, assisting with Prep Cook duties as needed
  • Perform deep clean duties during slow periods
  • Assist in extra prep during slow periods
  • Organize and stock line fridges during slow periods
  • Assist with inventorying and ordering ingredients as needed
  • Assist with dishwashing and other kitchen duties as needed
  • Assist with training new staff as required
  • Other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Line Cook or similar role in a restaurant or similar setting is required Knowledge of various cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, and baking is required Strong understanding of food safety guidelines and possession of valid Food Safe certification Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment Good communication and collaboration skills with Kitchen team, Front of House team and Guests Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is required

Education Requirements

  • Completion of a culinary program is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors around Kitchen equipment including flat top, gas range, grill, fryers, and ovens
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
