Job Summary:


As a member of the Regional Services team, reporting to the Associate Director, Regional Services this position is accountable for providing a range of education; ensuring employer compliance and relationship management services to a block of participating employers and their employees to meet client needs and promote HOOPP's values and initiatives.

The individual in this role needs to be able to understand, communicate and enforce compliance rules and regulations and how they pertain to HOOPP administration.

This is a hybrid role with both in office and at-home work required as well as some travel across the province.

The role will also occasionally require work outside of normal business hours, with evening and/or weekend activities.


What you will do:
Serves as the Plan's primary contact with a block of participating employers, which includes:

  • Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with each assigned employer through regular meetings (virtual and in-person).
  • Ongoing and consistent contact with employers to understand their needs pertaining to HOOPP and to provide value-added services and education to them and their employees; Delivering HOOPP's corporate and other key messages; delivering education and training on the value of the Plan, employer obligations, administrative processes.
  • Ensure the Employers are aware of and understand their obligations as a partner in the administration of the plan for their employees, including providing administrative training via initial orientation, refreshers, and topic-specific reviews; monitor and verify that employers meet the requirements of the Plan and governing legislation (e.g., PBA, ITA) Developing and implementing plans to correct instances where non-compliance is occurring
  • Resolve any administrative issues HOOPP may be having with the employer and work collaboratively with the employer and across other functional areas of HOOPP to resolve them.
  • Providing guidance regarding the potential pension impacts on their organization and employees of any restructuring (amalgamations, group transfers, acquisitions, and divestments, etc.).
  • Collect and report on feedback from employers and their employees about HOOPP itself and on their successes and/or challenges in healthcare environment
Responsible for providing education about the Plan for clients and other stakeholders through high touch proactive interactions:

  • Presentations about their role and obligations in administration of the plan., and the value of HOOPP Insight in supporting the ease of their administration
  • Provide education and training on the value and features of the HOOPP Plan for both employers and members, supporting the employer's ability to attract and retain talent making them an employer of choice
Support their employees in understanding the value of the HOOPP Plan, through:

  • Educational presentations for members on the features of the plan and the use of HOOPP Connect and to understand the service they will receive from HOOPP during significant life events. Tailor these presentations to the specific needs of the employer and member audience
  • Individual Member meetings (one-on-ones) to provide education and guidance assisting members in understanding how their decision impacts their pension benefit
  • Regional seminars for HOOPP members, virtually and in-person, across the province to support them in understanding the value of the HOOPP Plan and the benefit they receive from their employers

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with pension plans, preferably defined benefit multiemployer plans
