Job Title:
Product Support Specialist - Truck Mounted Equipment (Marketing, Sales & Technical)
Job Purpose
The Product Support Specialist would provide sales, marketing and technical support to an established customer base selling and servicing truck mounted equipment.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to), customer service, order entry, inventory management, creation and distribution of sales marketing materials, technical support / technical liaison between factory and customer.
The Product Support Specialist would report to the Senior Product Manager, working together to provide the best possible customer experience.
Major Responsibilities
- Supporting the established customer base with quick response to sales and technical inquiries
- Assist the Product Manager
- Advise and supervise any launching of new vendor's product
- Achieve and maintain strong vendor liaisons
- Collaborate with the Sales Department on any exceptional quotes advising accurate landed cost factors and gross margins
- Advise all necessary Drive Products personnel of product changes
- Oversee and coordinate with Marketing for any associated product training either involving vendors or Product Managers
- Recommend process improvements
- Participate in training provided
- Technical support to Drive Products personnel
- Oversee and edit vendor stock corporate purchase orders
- Oversee and coordinate the handling of all warranty items/issues pertaining to their product in order to satisfy Corporate Quality Objectives
- Continually gain competitor knowledge/information
- Assist sales force when necessary
- Support Customer Service Department during high volume periods or offseason
- Compliance with all internal Policies and Procedures including, but not limited to, Health and Safety and Quality Management
- Compliance with all regional legislation including Occupational Health and Safety
- If directing work of other employees, must be aware of all related hazards and must communicate these hazards, controls and personal protective equipment required in order to complete the assigned tasks
Qualifications - Educational Requirements
- Truck Mounted Equipment Industry related experience an asset
- Must be willing to complete training with Drive Products industry as required
Qualifications - Knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of all products required to perform duties listed above
Skills
- Computer literate in Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to communicate well with both external customers and internal staff
- Ability to deal with customers in a professional manner
- Familiar with Inventory Management ERP an asset
Working Conditions
Normal office conditions, semi-regular sales calls to the established customer base. Some warehouse conditions. During certain periods may experience high volumes of customer inquiries and other responsibilities as listed above. Some overnight travel may be required.
