Job description
We are seeking an experienced AI Computer Vision Developer to create a virtual hair color try-on feature for our Shopify store.
We are looking for an experienced AI / Computer Vision Developer to build a Virtual Hair Extension Try-On tool for our professional hair extension brand, Muse Hair Pro.
This tool will allow customers and stylists to upload a photo (or use live camera) and virtually try on our different hair extension colors, lengths, and textures before purchasing.
This is specifically for hair extensions — not wigs — so accuracy in placement, blending, and color matching is extremely important.
The virtual try-on tool should allow users to:
- Upload a photo or use live camera
- See realistic placement of extensions
- Try on multiple extension colors from our shade range
- View different lengths (18", 22", 24", etc.)
- See texture options (straight, wavy)
- Toggle before/after view
- Download or screenshot their try-on look
- Share results with their stylist
We are open to custom builds or integration of existing AI technology, but the solution must include:
- Hair segmentation / masking technology
- AI color mapping & blending
- Extension length simulation
- Realistic shadowing + layering
- Web-based functionality (no app download required)
- Mobile + desktop optimization
Preferred tech stack experience:
- Computer Vision / Machine Learning
- OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- AR / WebAR
- / WebGL
- Python + React (or similar)
- Image processing & rendering
The tool must integrate with our Shopify website so users can:
- Try on extensions directly on product pages
- Select colors they tried on
- Add matched shades to cart
- Work seamlessly within our storefront
Brand Context
Our company is a luxury, professional-only hair extension brand used by stylists across North America.
Accuracy, realism, and a high-end user experience are extremely important.
We will provide:
- Extension color swatches
- Product photos
- Length references
- Brand guidelines
We are looking for someone who:
- Has built virtual try-on tools before (beauty or fashion preferred)
- Has AI / AR portfolio examples
- Understands hair movement, blending, and realism
- Can advise on best tech stack
- Can build scalable solutions for future expansion
- Fully functional virtual try-on tool
- Shopify integration
- Mobile optimization
- Backend system to upload new shades
- Training or documentation for our team
