Position purpose:


In this role you will have a deep understanding of best practices in Equity, diversity and inclusion work, and demonstrated experience in EDI to support the work, understand the organizational objectives and commitments and implement the strategic plan.

You will lead and oversee the delivery of several highly visible programs in alignment with the overall EDI Strategy as well as lead the DEI team to ensure success and growth.


  • You will also possess solid skills in change management, project management, coaching and facilitation of both internal and external stakeholder engagement. You will provide advice to address systemic racism and exclusionary practices to ensure equitable representation and inclusion of equity deserving communities including new immigrants and historically excluded communities and individuals.

What You Will Do:


  • Lead the DEI team to success through authentic leadership and ensuring the team has a strong sense of belonging
  • Design, launch and iterate programs aligned to our EDI strategy by identifying needs, securing resources, and prioritizing work. This includes project planning, change management, communication, and execution.
  • Monitor workplans and strategic plan to ensure goals are met in a timely fashion. Report on overall progress to the Head of EDI, and organization wide (via committed communication channels) to ensure that learnings and results are utilized to improve EDI programs and processes.
  • Develop and procure training/learning opportunities and awareness programs in areas of human rights, discrimination, harassment, antiracism, antioppression, equity, diversity, and inclusion for all employees.
  • Assist with diversity analytics, including benchmarking, tracking metrics, analyzing and generating reporting for various audience to highlight trends and demonstrate impact of EDI programs and initiatives.
  • Lead the construction of EDI data action plan with divisional leaders to identify and collaborate on methods of improvement with regards barriers to inclusion identified
  • Oversee the management of the Employee Resources Groups (ERGS), ensuring alignment with EDI and Corporate strategy through planning, guidance and counsel.
  • Develop a deep and collaborative partnership with Leadership to advocate for and amplify underrepresented voices at IO.

Who We're Looking For:


  • Five (5) years managing people, experience supervising the work of others
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills to identify key areas to improve EDI programs and initiatives, conduct data analysis, develop solutions, and formulate recommendations to align with and advance organizational priorities.
  • Experience using data analytics platforms to inform storytelling and presentations.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering equitable, diverse and inclusive approaches which create shared purpose and drive tangible change in an organization
  • An intrinsic passion for challenging barriers and status quo.
  • Experience building EDI programs and practices that have demonstrated longterm return on investment; ability to identify measurable metrics, evaluate progress and adapt strategies as needed
  • Demonstrated intercultural experience and strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of EDI at both the regional and global level.
