Lifemark Health Group's communications mandate is impressive, with a broad focus on external and internal communications, public relations, stakeholder relations and corporate initiatives.

With a national scope, this bilingual role develops compelling communications across a variety of channels to inform, engage, and inspire our English and French speaking team of almost 8,000 people across 300+ locations, including Clinic Operations, Medical Assessments, Workplace Health & Wellness, and Home & Community Care business segments.

The Lifemark team focusses on the individual needs of each patient and client to provide the highest quality of care to help individuals achieve their health goals.


As a member of our talented in-house Marketing & Communications team, the Bilingual Communications Specialist is a strategic communicator and leads the day-to-day implementation of a wide range of communications.

As an experienced communications professional, you will lead all aspects of the communication process including development of key messages, review of audiences, creation of all required assets, translation, approvals, deployment and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining a strategic communication plan, including a monthly calendar, tactical plans, and feedback options that reflect French language requirements
  • Leading the development, translation and distribution of bilingual companywide leadership communications across various channels to enhance the team experience, keep strategy relevant, and celebrate dates of significance and team accomplishments
  • Developing external facing material including news posts, media briefs, media responses, social media posts and speaking notes
  • Developing and maintaining a crisis communication plan to support rapidresponse communications
  • Create and adapt communications for a number of platforms; finding ways to leverage technology to improve engagement and broaden our reach
  • Working closely with all business segments and National Office teams, including HR, Quality and Training, IT and Finance to provide ongoing communications support
  • Supporting the development of leader communications and support tools, so teams are equipped with the information required for changemanagement initiatives
  • Planning for bilingual team events, including logístical coordination, development and deployments of invitations, creation of executivelevel slides and scripts for Town Halls, postevent surveys and postmortems
  • Preparation of monthly communication summary for executives
  • Managing a results dashboard, with a focus on leveraging data to support continuous improvement
  • Ensuring communications are compliant with brand guidelines, translation guidelines and legal requirements
  • Managing special projects, assignments and other duties as required

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in French and English
  • A postsecondary degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other relevant field
  • Five years of relevant experience, with at least three years in a similar role
  • Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills, with the ability to develop compelling communications appropriate for patients, clients, the general public and the Lifemark team
  • Strong ability to execute work with a diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracist lens
  • Strong understanding of crisis communications and change management methodologies
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and key Microsoft 365 apps/products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Constant Contact, MailChimp, and/or equivalent programs to develop customized communications for different audiences that reflect accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of digital video editing such as Canva, Premier Pro, and/or similar software
  • Experience with inperson and virtual event planning
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proactive approach with a problemsolving focus and project management mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Openness and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • French translation certification is an asset
  • Experience in healthcare is an asset
  • Formal media training is an asset
