What You'll Do:

• Customer Safety: Ensure the safety and security of all patrons inside and around the venue. This includes monitoring guest behavior to prevent altercations, ensuring emergency exits are accessible, and being prepared to respond to emergency situations.
• ID Checks: Verify the age of patrons at the entrance to prevent underage drinking by checking IDs. Be knowledgeable about spotting fake IDs.
• Crowd Control: Manage the flow of guests to avoid overcrowding and ensure there is no blockage in emergency exits or fire lanes. This may include line management outside the venue and ensuring that the maximum capacity is not exceeded.
• Conflict Resolution: Address and deescalate any conflicts or aggressive behavior among patrons to prevent any disturbances or potential violence.
• Enforce Venue Policies: Uphold the establishment's rules and policies regarding dress codes, conduct, and alcohol consumption. Ensure patrons do not bring prohibited items into the venue.
• Surveillance: Monitor the venue via patrolling and/or security cameras to detect suspicious behavior, prevent theft, and ensure the safety of guests and staff.
• First Aid: Provide basic first aid in case of minor injuries or health issues among patrons or staff until professional medical assistance arrives.
• Access Control: Regulate access points to prevent unauthorized entry into restricted or staffonly areas

9 Report Incidents:

Document any incidents that occur within the venue, including the details of conflicts, injuries, thefts, or any other security breaches.

Law Enforcement:

Work with local police and emergency services as necessary, providing them with incident reports and collaborating on investigations if required.

• Lost and Found: Manage a lost and found section, assisting patrons in recovering lost items.
• Evacuation Assistance: Assist in the safe and orderly evacuation of the premises in the event of an emergency, such as a fire or bomb threat.
• Drug and

Weapon Checks:
Perform checks as needed to prevent the entry or use of illegal substances and weapons inside the venue.

• Training: Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on the latest security practices and emergency response protocols.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including assisting patrons with directions within the venue, answering questions, and helping to ensure an overall positive experience.

What You'll Need:

• Valid Security Guard License issued by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment and security systems.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and security protocols.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
