Our warehouses, which are located on the Northwest side of Edmonton, cover 500,000+ square feet of buildings and utilize machines that range from 6,000-36,000 lbs.
As a forklift operator at Active Warehousing, you will handle items of varying weights and dimensions, which allow our operators to be challenged each day.
From using regular forks to hydraulic clamp attachments, there are endless possibilities to grow as a forklift operator at Active Warehousing.
Shift Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Skills/Qualifications/Duties:
- Valid forklift training certificate an asset
- Outdoor diesel heavy lift forklift experience
- Previous clamp attachment skills considered an asset
- Previous experience operating forklift in a lumber yard or building supply environment
- Able to operate a forklift with a variety of sized products.
- Previous experience working in railroad boxcars considered an asset
- Able to physically lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Follow company procedures and SOP's
- Work with supervisors to ensure product is correctly picked for loading/unloading
- Ability to work together as a team to accomplish daily inbound/outbound product movement
- Perform preuse inspections of machine
- Operate machines in a safe and efficient manner

Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- loading and unloading: 2 years (preferred)
- clamp attachment / clamp truck: 1 year (preferred)
- outdoor diesel heavy lift forklift: 2 years (preferred)
- lumber yard or building supply environment: 2 years (preferred)
- sit-down counterbalance forklift operator: 2 years (preferred)
