    JOB OVERVIEW
    The Expand Project (Expand) aims to initiate and expand dialogues on nicotine and tobacco usage within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, focusing on engaging individuals from the specified age group. Informed by and tailored to queer and trans young adults, Expand strives to provide information and resources that prompt contemplation on smoking and vaping, both on a personal level and within the community at large.
    The role of the Canadian Cancer Society on Expand is to spearhead the social marketing and online aspects of the project.
    This is a maternity leave replacement contract from June 17, 2024, to June 13, 2025, with a possibility of extension.
    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
    1. Lead The Expand Project digital marketing, website, Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) distribution, and quit to win contest.
    • Collaborate with the Marketing agency to create promotional assets for Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok in both French and English.
    • Oversee the Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) ordering process, handling registrant information and vendor relationships.
    • Ensure Website content is accurate and up to date, coordinating edits and updates with internal teams.
    • Manage the 'quit-to-win contests' including data management, winner selection, and communications.
    2. Engage with external partners in planning and executing Expand's goals.
    • Participate in partner meetings.
    • Collaborate on project objectives.
    • Provide necessary reports.
    3. Act as a collaborative member of the Cancer Prevention team.
    • Support the development, execution, and evaluation of cancer prevention programs.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, funders, and key stakeholders.
    • Represent CCS in external meetings, workgroups, networks, and committees.
    • Assist in prevention planning and community engagement for CCS's priority populations.
    • Stay informed on smoking cessation and other relevant topics like e-cigarettes and cannabis.
    • Coordinate with internal CCS departments when necessary.
    • Adhere to safety regulations and promote a culture of justice, belonging, diversity, and inclusion within the organization.
    • Perform any other assigned duties.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Minimum high school education in health promotion, health sciences, community development or social work.
    • Familiarity with health and healthcare access issues affecting diverse 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and young adult communities.
    • Experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ populations.
    • Understanding of social marketing strategies to encourage healthy behavior changes.
    • Related post-secondary education or equivalent, specializing in digital media or similar field.
    • Proficiency in website development, social media marketing, and analytics.
    • Knowledge of health promotion strategies related to tobacco control is advantageous.
    • Strong program/project coordination skills.
    • Experience in cancer and chronic disease prevention or related health fields.
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is beneficial.
    • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in similar positions.
    • Excellent relationship management abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
