  • Reporting to the Regional Manager, Clinical Simulation Education, the Clinical Simulation Technician (CST) is responsible for a wide variety of simulation education/training, orientation and staff development activities within the Northern Clinical Simulation Centers. The Clinical Simulation Technician maintains and operates the simulation technologies, courseware development and usage, and trains staff and faculty to facilitate simulation scenarios and debrief sessions. The Clinical Simulation Technician will do this by fostering effective working relationships with simulation centre stakeholders, facilitators, faculty, physicians and other health professionals. They will be an effective team member with the ability to work independently to problem solve, and respond to changing priorities or unforeseen opportunities.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:

Days; Monday to Friday; 08:30 to 16:30
University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility (268 beds) in Northern Health and is the hub for specialized health services.

It is a full service hospital and home to a new cancer centre for Northern BC, including a wide range of cancer treatments.

Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia.

UHNBC is also a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions.
Prince George has a population of 89, local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and graduation from a recognized two year computer systems technology diploma program plus two (2) years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
