About the Opportunity:


The beautiful Annapolis Valley has community hospitals in Middleton, and Annapolis Royal as well as Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) in Kentville.

VRH serves a catchment area of 80,000, has 137 beds and provides the following services:

- ambulatory care
- cardiovascular services
- clinical dietetics
- community cancer services
- diagnostic imaging
- emergency medicine
- intensive care unit
- laboratory services
- medical and surgical unit
- mental health and addiction services
- obstetrics
- occupational therapy
- palliative care
- pediatrics
- physiotherapy
- psychiatry
- rehabilitation services


Responsibilities:

- provide full scope of practice as an internist and geriatrician
- provide office-based, hospital, on call, and ICU support as required
- contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
- contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned
- provide support to your own site but also to others in the Western Zone if required, which will include travelling clinics.
- responsible to the Zone Department Head for Internal Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
- operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority


Expected Hours:

- full-time
- on call requirements to be determined based on the needs of the community


Qualifications:


  • Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
