Work Arrangements:
This is a hybrid role.

You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month.

You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you will be doing:


  • Support for monthend, quarterend and year end financial and management reports
  • Resident coexpert on the data used to support the Group business
  • Supports other areas (Sales, Claims, Pricing, etc.) by providing meaningful and relevant data to drive business decisions
  • Shared responsibility for the accurate and timely data submissions for industry surveys
  • Development and maintenance of adhoc reports to support the ongoing financial understanding of our business
  • Supporting data needs for Group experience monitoring and assumption reviews
  • Analyze and reconcile data from multiple sources
  • Build dashboards and look for opportunities to automate and transition reports to selfserve
  • Liaison with business stakeholders for various data analytics projects, interpreting their data needs, providing relevant data, and resolving data issues. Help interpret findings related to these projects and recommend ongoing monitoring reports/dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring and analytics reports.
  • Develop accurate and actionable reports for leaders in the business. Actively search for ways to further improve existing reports to support senior management's decisionmaking process

What you will bring:


  • Post secondary education in Finance, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, Mathematics or related field
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis, data management techniques, data engineering techniques and processes
  • Background in Insurance or Group benefits environment is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate complex information to stakeholders
  • Superior analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, VBA
  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI
  • Expert knowledge in data management in transactional/relational databases. MS SQL preferred
  • Experience using data visualization or business intelligence tools
  • Expert understanding of and ability to access, consolidate, and understand data from various data sources and generate actionable reports for stakeholders in the business
