This search aligns with the University's commitment to strategically and proactively promote diversity among our community members (Statement on Equity, Diversity & Excellence). We seek candidates whose scholarship encompasses Black health studies, critical race theory, African/Black Feminist theorization, anti-colonial (decolonial) studies, intersectional health experience including confronting anti-black racism, misogynoir, classism, heterosexism, ableism and/or religious/spiritual oppression, among other factors; racism and colonization as social determinants of health, resistance and health, racism within health-related institutions, organizations and professions and other public health related issues. We also encourage candidates with lived experiences to apply.
Equity and diversity are essential to academic excellence. We seek candidates who value diversity and whose research, teaching, and service bear out our commitment to equity. Candidates must also show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and to the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment, as demonstrated through the application materials.
We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing strengths in the Division of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research, and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Candidates will be able to demonstrate how their research and teaching interests align with the DLSPH Academic Plan. The expected salary range is $130,000-$150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
