- Based in the beautiful and adventurous community of Kitimat, BC
- Working safely in accordance with Rio Tinto safety standards and engaging in safety initiatives, including lock-out/tag-out and isolation procedures
- Installing, repairing, maintaining, replacing, calibrating, programming, and servicing process monitoring and/or control instruments including indicators, recording devices, control loops and computers
- Using power and hand equipment, often performing work at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment i.e., harness, lanyard, SRL's, man-lifts, scissor-lifts
- Utilizing SAP to enter work completion records, and preparation, ordering, and retrieval of parts lists
- Keeping your work area safe, clean and well maintained. Taking timely action to correct unsafe work conditions in your work area
- Maintaining a continuous improvement focus by developing and participating in implementation of appropriate solutions to eliminate the issues/problems identified in the work area
- Working effectively as an individual and within a team, including communicating respectfully to all team members and stakeholders
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Interprovincial Red Seal Instrumentation & Control Technician qualification
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience performing instrumentation maintenance
- Proven troubleshooting skills
- Valid Driver's License (minimum of a BC Class 7 or equivalent)
- Willing to work varying shift schedules as assigned, including rotating 12-hour shifts (rosters include both days, nights, and weekends)

We are looking for an Instrumentation & Control Technician to perform the installation, maintenance, repair, calibration, and programming of measurement and control instruments that are used at the aluminum smelter site in Kitimat, BC.
