Summary:
Monitor, control and manage business operations to meet customer expectations and company goals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Reports to Operations Manager
- Ensures that deliveries are on time and as planned
- Communicates all delays to stores and provides ETAs
- Maintains proper equipment allocations for each Distribution Centre (DC) daily and as required
- Follows up on any equipment failures to ensure timely repairs
- Acts as the first point of contact for stakeholders
- Monitors and reports time performance for each DC, communicates and identifies potential service failures
- Develops and coordinates tactical transportation plans for multiple customers
- Maintains and verifies load information and details for accuracy and availability
- Captures and reports on all carrier performance trends
- Responds to customer queries regarding the status of shipment pickups and delays
- Provides timely communication and customer service functions in a multicustomer environment
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the Metro distribution network through professional and timely communication and inquiry responses
- Prepares related documentation in accordance with the set operational procedures
- Resolves store delivery issues, and if necessary, elevates to management for resolution
- Assists in incident investigations and determines causes and corrective actions
- Maintains current knowledge of industry standards & practices
- Interfaces with a variety of stakeholders on both routine and complex issues
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with carriers and service providers
- Requirement to be cross trained on each function of the sector
- Ensures department processes and procedures are adhered to
- Responsible for the collection of data for the department KPIs
- Monitors and reacts to store wait times to reduce cumulative totals
Qualifications:
- University/college education in related field
- Experience in SAP, Blue Yonder (JDA), MS Office
- 15 years previous experience in the Transportation industry
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Handles high stress situations in a professional manner
- Ability to speak French an asset
