Title:
Early Childhood Educator

This is a part-time casual position. Some shifts may be scheduled ahead of time, but many times you may be called last minute.


Reports to:
Centre Director


Objective:

• To deliver early learning and child care services in alignment with WHELC
• To carry out developmentally appropriate programming for children aged 012 in collaboration with children, families, and the community
• To follow the centre operational policies and procedures as specified in the Staff Handbook

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for constant supervision, safety and wellbeing of the children
• Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques
• Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents and coworkers
• Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards
• Assist children with all necessary care routines (e.g. diapering, toileting, hygiene, etc.)
• Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Centre Director or her designate

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Early Childhood certification is an asset
• CPR/First Aid Certification is an asset
• Current Criminal Record Check
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to relate well to children, parents, colleagues and community
• Demonstrated leadership ability

Job Types:

Salary:
$13.00-$19.00 per hour
