    Intent of the process

    This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates.

    The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

    Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

    EDUCATION
    Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*

    EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in providing administrative support services*
    *Administrative support services can include: coordinating and scheduling appointments, meetings and teleconferences; assisting with arranging travel and accommodations; preparing, transcribing and processing a variety of correspondence, reports and documentation; preparing and distributing mail; providing reception services, referring callers and visitors to the appropriate areas, conducting photocopying/scanning activities, maintain office equipment, etc.

    • Experience in data entry, and searching and retrieving data from various reports/systems.

    • Experience in providing financial support services*
    *Financial support services can include: monitoring and maintaining budget data; maintaining contingency funds, verifying and processing expenditures and journal vouchers; etc.

    OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material

    • Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport).

    • Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.

    • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

    Conditions of employment

    RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.
