- Welcome constituents and stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and respond to calls, emails, and walk-ins, and/or direct them to appropriate staff members.
- Record accurate messages and ensure timely responses.
- Assist constituents with issues in navigating federal government departments and services, ensuring that they feel heard and supported and that their needs are addressed promptly.
- Contribute to office operations and service delivery enhancements through special projects, including casework resources, data management, etc.
- Staff the Minister at events on occasional evenings and weekends.
- Capture photo and video content at events and meetings for communication materials (, social media, website, etc.).
- Assist in organizing and planning activities for the Constituency Youth Council (CYC) to engage with the community and provide mentorship and support.
- Support event planning, organizing, and event implementation.
- Additional duties as assigned, including office administration, outreach, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including in active listening, correspondence, and dealing with members of the public.
- Comfortable and experienced in dealing with challenging or complex conversations.
- Previous administrative, customer service, casework, and/or project management experience.
- Strong ability to adapt to change, be flexible, manage multiple projects and tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Interest or knowledge of federal politics, federal government departments, and public policy is an asset.
- Comfortable and knowledgeable with Canva, Google Suites, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
