The Role

Key responsibility for this role is identifying credit risks, ensuring loan security is in place and ensuring service standards are maintained.

_ Construction Loans_

Manage an assigned portfolio of construction loans.
Perform full setup of construction loans to the loan management system, internal shared drives, and investor portal.
Instruct and liaise with external consultants: e.g. lawyers, insurance consultant, cost consultants.
Collect, review, and verify loan documentation and funding information from various stakeholders and third parties to ensure all funding condition requirements are met prior to established funding date.
Review third party reports such as geotechnical, environmental and appraisals, cost consultant reports and make decisions within the delegated authority as to their acceptability.
Perform sales and deposits analysis in accordance to a loan's sale condition precedent
Review and verify the Borrower ownership structure utilizing corporate documentation, client identification and ID Forms to ensure that all AML criteria has been met and screened by the Compliance Team.
Review and process progress advances based upon a cost consultant's report to ensure that both correct source and advance amount are being recommended for approval.
Ensure that all Investor approvals are in place for each advance and that the mortgage security is/remains in place maintaining the lender's priority position.
Arrange for internal signoffs to an advance and liaise with the Investor(s) with respect to the satisfaction a loan's condition precedent.
Post advance and administrative financial transactions onto the loan management system.
Diarize followup event items on the loan management system, e.g. insurance, financial statements, solicitor reports undertakings.
Review and verify the monthly Borrower statements.
Prepare full and partial discharge statements in accordance to the terms and conditions outlined in a loan's commitment letter.

_ Letters of Credit Transactions_

Responsible for requesting Letters of Credit via BMO Trade Finance or the associated Investor depending on Investor.
Responsible for processing Letters of Credit Amendments and posting transactions on loan administration management system during the life cycle of the loan.
Review and verify the monthly invoices and payment of Letter of Credit Fee.

What You Bring To The Team

Three to five years of recent and related experience, preferably in commercial or related construction funding.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of data.
Comprehensive MS Office experience; demonstrated proficiency in excel.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Quick learner with the ability to foster relationships and provide strong customer support.
Selfdriven, motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Postsecondary education (Diploma or Degree).
