Legendary Hospitality Group, located in the heart of Downtown Halifax is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team at the Stubborn Goat Gastropub.

We are looking for a passionate, hard working individual to join our management team.

The Assistant Manager is first and foremost a shift manager responsible for successfully planning, organizing, staffing and leading of a shift as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

The Assistant Manager is expected to maintain high performance standards, achieve financial and company objectives, and ensure that the company culture and vision are exercised, all while exceeding guest expectations and promoting teamwork.


Responsibilities

  • The assistant manager is responsible for assisting the general manager by overseeing the daily operations of the venue, including the selection, development and performance management of employees
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining up to date knowledge of all food and drink products
  • Responsible for processing cash and electronic payments on a day to day basis, ensuring that they are accurate and balanced at the end of each day as well as optimizing profits
  • Work with the general manager to manage labour and beverage costs, the provisioning and purchasing of supplies and monitor pricing and compare to theoretical costs
  • The assistant manager contributes and promotes teamwork by keeping a friendly attitude with coworkers and a joyful composure with guests as well as upholding accountability of the various roles within the pub
  • Scheduling employees, hiring and training new employees
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food and beverage quality and service, including online reviews
  • Must uphold all Serve Right guidelines as well as all provincial laws outlined in the Nova Scotia Liquor Control Act.
  • Maintain a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
  • Ensure that guests are provided with a Legendary experience

About you
years in the food and beverage industry an asset

  • Previous experience leading a team in the hospitality industry
  • A working knowledge of cuisine is an asset
  • Must be punctual, reliable, have ability to work as a team and independently and have a strong work ethic
  • Advanced english language skills

Work Environment

  • Physical demands include walking and standing, bending, kneeling, repetitive twisting and lifting, and repetitive arm movements
  • Be able to work outside for a prolonged period of time
  • Must be able to lift 45lbs
  • Uniforms and PPE provided by LHG must be worn during work hours

Work Authorization

  • Must be authorized to legally work in Canada
